Good variety of trails and terrains in this State Forest Park. Good for hiking, biking and dog walking. The main trails are wide and welcoming and easy to follow. The side trails can be tight and are more challenging.
Such a nice place to spend the afternoon. We packed a lunch, there were several picnic tables to choose from. The bathrooms were super clean. The trails were well maintained and marked. Lots of rocks for the kids to climb. We will be back soon.
Very nice hiking spot. We have 2 young children and a small dog and they loved it. It is very clean and has a nice picnic area at the entrance. Be warned as there is hunting you want to make sure you are safe. A bright or reflective vest for animals and pay attention to any hunting signs. We heard quite a bit of shooting and even saw a couple of hunters. Safety first. That aside the hiking was very pleasant. The trails were very well marked and the terrain is great for light hiking. Like it a lot.
Nice place to walk around. Though I found a posted sign that said people can shoot guns there too.
You will either love it or hate it here! The motorcycle loop is very VERY rocky! Definitely need to bring your A game. Suited for experienced riders. Franklin State forest and Hodges Village Dam have much easier trails.
